Amit is a seasoned strategy and operations leader with over 20 years of cross-functional in health insurance in the GCC and East Africa. He is one of the few professionals with experience spanning both payers and providers of healthcare services.
As Managing Director of ACCUMED, he spearheaded revival in revenue growth, turn-around of customer experience, and operations transformation. Under his leadership, operations increased 300% in 3 years, secured over AED 400 million in new business revenue over 5 years, and operating expenses reduced by 40%.
At Ernst & Young, Amit led large and complex projects for prestigious public (KSA Ministry of Health) and private sector clients in healthcare delivery and health insurance in KSA and UAE.
Prior to this, Amit led the corporate strategy and projects function for Aetna International, MEA.
Amit’s experiences include establishing a model health insurance operating center in the Middle East for a niche UK based international private medical insurance (IPMI) insurer and, decentralizing and migrating service delivery with nil disruption. He led licensing, office set-up, talent acquisition, and overall management of core and support functions.
He is passionate about enabling organizations adopt technology efficiently through smoother intersection of business and IT functions. Thus, he invests time and effort in learning about the AI and ML landscape, and identifying ways in which businesses can unlock gains using these technologies, and data that organizations have amassed.
Amit is known for his strategic insights, serving as a trusted advisor to boards, C-suite executives, and business teams.
